Pacific Lutheran University

Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) is a private university, is located in Tacoma, Washington, United States. Established in 1890 by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Because affiliated with the Church, the majority of the program students must complete two religions, one Christian and one other world religions.

Through lectures and schools, including the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Arts and Communication, School of Business, School of Education and Movement Studies, and the School of Nursing, Pacific Lutheran University offers 44 majors and 54 minors, with a variety of academic degree programs and professional.

PLU academic calendar is divided into two semesters, fall and spring, with a period of one month for January is known as J. term summer classes are also offered. During the term students take a class A for the entire month of January is considered as a 4-credit classes normally one would take for one semester. One of the academic program at Pacific Lutheran University is an academic term in January, dubbed J-Term, which in this program allows students to focus on one or two classes in particular. According to data from the university, many students who take the J-Term to study away from campus.

In addition, the university also offers offers more than 25 programs of international and domestic travel and the first US university to offer classes abroad study in seven continents simultaneously. With its location near downtown Tacoma, university students can experience both the city and the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest.

In addition to offering a variety of academic programs, students can also join with various organizations and sororities that have also been provided by the university. Among them there are Habitat for Humanity, the Feminist Student Union and Hip Hop 101. In fact, Pacific Lutheran University also has its own radio station, KPLU 88.5 FM, is an award winning National Public Radio affiliate and jazz broadcast news. However, there is no Greek life at this university.
