University of Florida

University of Florida is a public research university located in Gainesville, Florida, USA, was founded in 1853, is one of the university with very high research level, as evidenced by the presence of more than 150 research centers and Institutions at this university.

Through colleges and schools that they have today, including the College of Fine Arts, Fisher School of Accounting, Rinker School of Building Construction, College of Education, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, College of Pharmacy, College of Medicine, College of Nursing , Levin College of Law, Warrington College of Business, College of Engineering, and the School of Public Health and Health Professions, University of Florida offers a variety of majors studies with various academic degree programs in it.

Tuition
For the 2008-2009 academic year, annual tuition was:

undergraduate 
$3,790 for in-state students and $20,460 for out-of-state students.
graduate 
$8,190 for in-state students, and $23,315 for out-of-state students.
law school 
$10,800 for in-state students, and $30,100 for out-of-state students.
medical school 
$23,930 for in-state students, and $51,777 for out-of-state students.

For the 2009-2010 academic year, annual tuition was:

undergraduate 
$5,044 for in-state students and $27,321 for out-of-state students.

In 2012, the University of Florida had the 6th-lowest undergraduate tuition and fees for in-state students.

The University has been providing school library named George A. Smathers. Where the library has 5.3 million volumes of books and journals, plus 7 million microfilm, which is also one of the largest library system in the United States.

As a research university, the University of Florida has a well-regarded biotech business incubator. In addition, the university is also one of the leading higher education institutions in the United States in winning the patent for research. One of the patents that have been made by university researchers have occurred in 1965, where they managed to find Gatorade for energy Gator football players. Named Gatorade because Gator itself is the mascot of the University of Florida.

University of Florida also has delivered many alumni who became important figures and leading in the world, including nine former governor of Florida, two Nobel Prize-winning, eight astronauts and eight former US ambassador.

There is one tradition or university activities are always held by members of the university. Each year, approximately 800 students participate in a 26.2 hour dance marathon that benefits patients at the University Hospital of Florida Shands Children's Health.
