University of Nevada-Las Vegas


University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) is a public research university located in suburban Las Vegas Paradise, Nevada, United States. 358-acre (145 hectare) campus is located approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) east of the Las Vegas Strip.

UNLV offers about 220 courses in various fields leading to bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, which is taught by approximately 850 faculty members.

UNLV has several libraries on the main campus. The campus library is located in the middle of the Lied Library campus. Opened in 2001, 301 000 square feet (28,000 m2), $ 58 million facility is the name for a real estate entrepreneur Ernst W. Lied.
