Barry University

Barry University is a private Catholic university founded in 1940 in Miami Shores, Florida, USA, a suburb north of downtown Miami. It is one of the largest Catholic university in the Southeast.

Barry University offers more than 60 undergraduate programs of traditional, accelerated undergraduate programs designed specifically for working adults, and more than 50 graduate programs (many of these with class night / weekend) in 9 schools. Student to faculty ratio is 14: 1.

Existing schools in Barry University are: School of Adult and Continuing Education, School of Arts and Sciences, Andreas School of Business, School of Education, School of Human Performance and Leisure Sciences, School of Law (Dwayne O. Andreas), School of Natural and Health Sciences , School of Nursing, Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine, School of Social Work.

The university's mission is to promote the four commitments, namely knowledge and truth, inclusive society, social justice and collaboration services. Four commitments are implemented through several programs, namely faith and service programs, as well as actively participate in social activities, such as AIDS Day.

The University also has 12 non-academic divisions incorporated in the athletic division. Where various accomplishments berasil has been achieved by the division, such as winning 13 national championships, men's golf team has won three national championships and 57 titles successfully in the Sunshine State Conference. This division has also successfully offers 277 All-American athletes.

Many well-known in the community as Shaquille O'Neal, Prime Minister of Haiti, Laurent Lamothe, an alumnus of the University of Barry.
