Drury University

Drury University was founded in 1873 as Springfield College by Congregationalist church missionaries in the mold of other Congregationalists universities such as Dartmouth College and Yale University. Pastor Nathan Morrison, Samuel Drury, and James and Charles Harwood provided initial perennial schools and organizations; Gift Samuel Drury is the largest of the group and the school immediately renamed in honor of the recently deceased child Drury.

Drury University offers 54 undergraduate majors and some professional degrees through Hammons School of Architecture, Breech School of Business Administration, and the School of Education and Child Development.

Universities enroll about 1,600 students, 450 graduate students in six master's programs, and 3,160 students in the College of Continuing Professional Studies.
