Nebraska Wesleyan University


Nebraska Wesleyan University (NWU) is a private liberal arts research university founded in 1887 by Nebraska Methodist. This university is located in Lincoln, Nebraska, United States.

In 2007, he had 1,600 full-time students and 300 faculty and staff. School teaches the liberal arts tradition of higher education. Nebraska Wesleyan was ranked # 1 liberal arts college in Nebraska by US News and World Report in 2002. In 2009, Forbes ranked the 84th Best American Colleges. It is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.

Through one of the superior faculty, the College of Arts and Sciences, Nebraska Wesleyan University offers 25 majors. Not only that, through Advantage Wesleyan adult program offers a BS degree in business, criminal justice and social work, among others. With so many different options offered, students can adjust to the majors and degree programs in accordance with the wishes of each.

Nebraska Wesleyan University is also famous for the unique programs offered by the department of psychology called or known as "Xtreme Rat Challenge", in which the program is to train students to complete hurdles athletic rats.

There are several annual events that regularly held university by university members, one of which is an activity organized by the Student Symposium, which in the event the students present original academic research, host theatrical performances and art works are present.
Nebraska Wesleyan University also established Fatigue Center, which also serves as instituting a new bicycle Checkout Program, which the program students can rent a bicycle for a first-come first-served basis ,.

As one of the best higher education institutions in the United States, even in the world, since 2000, Nebraska Wesleyan University has produced four Fulbright scholars in one year on six different occasions. An achievement that deserves to be applauded.

From sports activities, Nebraska Wesleyan University has a team of athletic men and women known as the mascot, dubbed Prairie. They compete with sports teams from other universities to be the best in NCAA Division III athletic competition and NAIA.
