University of Scranton

University of Scranton was founded in 1888, is private Jesuit institution of Catholic higher education. The university is located in Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA.

Grant university undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science) in 61 majors. Students also can take advantage of many pre-professional concentrations, such as a pre-medical, pre-law and pre-dental. The university also has the Honors Program, and SJLA (Special Jesuit Liberal Arts) program which select students complete the course in moral philosophy, ethics, theology, and humanities in addition to their normal load.

The university also provides an undergraduate degree (Master of Arts, Master of Science, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Nursing, Master of Health Administration, Master of Occupational Therapy, Master of Science in Education) in 24 fields, including Accounting, Chemistry , Biochemistry, Computer Science, Counseling and Human Services, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Administration, Elementary and Special Education, Health Administration, Human Resources, Nursing, Software Engineering, and Theology. The university also offers a Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

For new students at this university, can get a chance to participate in the FIRST (Students Engaged in Joint Service Reflection), namely, in which 40 students were given the opportunity to participate in five days of community service before the autumn Scranton Welcome.

Many achievements and awards that have been achieved by this university. For 21 consecutive years, beginning in 1994, The University of Scranton has been ranked in the top 10 schools in the US News & World Report ranking of Best Universities-Master North. [4] In the 2010 edition, Scranton named as one of 77 national universities in the "Up and Coming List" (fourth in the north) and one of 80 nationally recognized for its "strong commitment to teaching" (third in the north). Princeton Review has named the university's annual "The Best 371 Colleges," from 2002 to the latest list in 2011. A combined study guide 2008 Newsweek / Kaplan also named The University of Scranton as one of the United States' "372 Most Interesting Schools" for the second year in a row. The University of Scranton is in the top 50 universities listed in Kiplinger's "Best Value Colleges." In 2011, The Huffington Post admitted to University of Scranton as a sixth-friendly schools in the United States.
