Hofstra University

Hofstra University is a private, non-profit, nonsectarian institution of higher education. Its main campus is located in the Village of Hempstead, New York, USA, this originated in 1935 as an extension of the New York University (NYU) called "Nassau College - Memorial of New York Hofstra University in Hempstead, Long Island"; in 1937, a separate organization from NYU and gain independence as Hofstra College, and in 1963, Hofstra High gain university status. Consisting of ten schools, including the School of Medicine and the Faculty of Law.

The university held a variety of other international academic conferences (many under the auspices of the Hofstra Cultural Center), holds an annual festival in a replica of Shakespeare's own Globe Theatre, and has both the arboretum and a bird sanctuary.

Hofstra is a national university, is currently ranked 135, according to the 2015 edition of US News & World Report. It holds full accreditation in 19 academic fields. Nationally, less than 100 colleges and universities to match this. In 2015, Hofstra University was ranked 11 in New York State by the average salary of professors. School acceptance rate was 58.8%. The average SAT scores in the range of 1200-1330 university.

The Hofstra University Honors College, which is a more selective admissions policies compared to the university as a whole, offering a rigorous educational opportunities for outstanding students. School of University Studies provides programs for students whose abilities are not reflected in standardized test scores; while the New Opportunities at Hofstra (NOAH) is designed for students whose educational progress to date has been constrained by limited educational opportunities or economic status.

According to the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, Hofstra considered a major research university.
