Wilmington University

Wilmington University established outside the historic New Castle, Delaware, in 1968 by Dr. Donald E. Ross. Dr. Ross is president until 1977. Wilmington College, now Wilmington University began with the charter class of 194 students in 1968 and grew from 1979 to 2006 to 10,000 students under President Dr. Audrey K. Doberstein. Doberstein inducted into the Hall of Fame of Delaware Women in 2011. The University now offers graduate and doctoral degrees and has more than 19,000 students per year enrolled online and on campus to sites in the three countries.

Wilmington University is a private, nonprofit research institute which consists of seven colleges and offers undergraduate and graduate programs in many academic disciplines and professions. A prime location near the historic New Castle, Delaware and the city of Wilmington.

This university is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II. Wildcats compete as members of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) for all sports.

Wilmington University Athletic Complex opened in Bear, Delaware, in 2013. The new complex includes outdoor and indoor areas of 20,000 sq ft .. Multi-purpose playing basketball and volleyball courts. The athletic complex provides athletic facilities and home field for basketball and football teams men and women, along with women's lacrosse and volleyball teams.
